Style Like The Saintsations! Get The Looks That Last Overtime

Cheer Hairstyles Like The Saintsations, the New Orleans Cheerleaders

If you’ve ever been to a Saints game, you know that besides the players on the field, the hardest-working, fastest-moving, highest-energy folks in the Dome are the Saintsations! Paris Parker is proud to be the official salon for the best dance team in the NFL.

With 3-4 hours of dancing, jumping, twirling and leaping per game, the Saintsations never fail to dazzle fans with their athleticism—all without their hair falling flat, frizzing up or getting greasy.

We’ve put together a few tips so that you can style your hair like a Saintsation and keep it on point, no matter how much you’re moving!

LONG, LOOSE WAVES

To keep long, thick, wavy hair like Joanna’s looking polished through high-energy moves, you need products that maintain a firm hold.

  • Apply Aveda Volumizing Tonic to dry roots to keep the weight of your hair from flattening it at the crown.
  • Work in Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair from the mid-point down for moisture and healthy shine. Spritz hair all over with Aveda Heat Relief to protect up to 450 degrees during heat styling.
  • Use a medium-barrel curling iron or wand, and start in the back and work your way forward. Section off the hair in 1 to 2-inch sections and wrap sections around the barrel from roots to ends. Curl all sections away from the face. When you slide each section off the barrel, hold it scrunched for several seconds while the hair cools down and sets the shape.
  • Spritz all over with Aveda Control Force Firm Hold Hair Spray, loosening and shaking out curls slightly.

CURLY & TEXTURED

If you were blessed with textured curls like Morgan, you know curl control and frizz-busting is the name of the game.

  • Give your curls a nice moisture infusion with Be Curly Intensive Detangling Masque.
  • Let air-dry and work Be Curly Curl Enhancer through your hair, shaping your curls with your fingers.
  • Once dry, apply Dry Remedy Daily Moisturizing Oil through your curls, concentrating on ends.

SILKY & STRAIGHT

For shiny, silky hair like Tanya’s, you want to keep it from getting limp or greasy throughout a serious workout.

  • Start with an Aveda Shine Treatment at the shampoo bowl for glossy shine that lasts up to 20 washes.
  • Prep damp hair with Smooth Infusion Style-Prep and blow dry.
  • Puff Shampure Dry Shampoo into the roots. Work it in to absorb sweat and oil and keep your crown voluminous.
  • Flat-iron hair in 1-2 inch sections. Then apply Light Elements Smoothing Fluid at the ends.
  • Spritz with Air Control Hair Spray to finish.

BEACHY WAVES

For Gabby’s perpetual beach-girl look, you want soft but workable texture—the key is to keep it from looking too “done.”

  • Spray Aveda Heat Relief from the middle to the ends of dry hair to protect from thermal damage. Flat-iron the bottom 2-3 inches (beachy waves look great when the very ends are straight).
  • Spritz Aveda Texture Tonic from mid-point to ends. Use a medium-barrel curling iron or wand and wrap sections of hair around the barrel. Vary the sections in size, and curl in different directions as you go. Leave the bottom inch of (straightened) hair off the barrel. For your face-framing sections, wrap your hair away from your face.
  • Separate, fluff and scrunch curls with fingers to create a messy, beachy texture. Hit with one last mist of Texture Tonic.
