What is Salon Today 200?

Each year you may see a poster go up in the salon window, or may receive an email announcing that we have been named to Salon Today Magazine’s Top 200 list. We wanted to take a moment to explain exactly what this list is, why it means so much to us – and, ultimately, why it should mean something to you.

Salon Today Magazine started this national competition 20 years ago to help distinguish excellence in the beauty industry.

To enter, salons across the country complete an in-depth application about their business from topics ranging from customer service, education, and community involvement to innovation, profitability and culture.

Once received, Salon Today Magazine’s team of experts painstakingly evaluates each application and selects 200 of the best of the best salons from across the country. These salons demonstrate excellence and are the driving forces in the industry.

Paris Parker has been named to this prestigious group almost every year since the list began in 1996.

Paris Parker, founded in 1991, has 9 salons in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Mandeville and Hammond and is owned by Neill Corporation, the Aveda Distributor for 7 Southern states. As an Aveda flagship, Paris Parker strives to embody the Aveda mission of environmental responsibility and commitment to excellence through on-going advanced education for our staff and dedication to the craft of hairdressing. (We also would like to note, that Aveda salons make up over half the Salon Today 200 lists – year after year.)

As a guest, when you step into Paris Parker – you are stepping into one of the best salons in the country.
